We Will Join ASUU Strike If Government Fail To Pay In 2weeks ––Nig Union of Teachers
The days ahead promises to be rough for the education sector in Nigeria as the Nigeria Union of Teachers has given a two-week ultimatum to Goodluck Jonathan administration to to resolve all issues with ASUU and pay up their entitlements as agreed.
Describing the current ASUU strike as patriotic and self-sacrificing, the NUT president warned that they will not hesitate to close down all schools, if government fails to agree with ASSU in the next two weeks.
Failure to do so, NUT President, Michael Olukoya, said all teachers will join the strike.
Mr Olukoya stated this in Abuja at the end of the Union’s meeting with teachers’ representatives across the country on Thursday, September 26, 2013.
