If you cannot trust your partner with; the password to your phone (or other digital device), the PIN to your bank account or your house keys then you should definitely not take a chance on your health by having sex without a condom.
How do you know if a person is trustworthy? Important clues to look out for in any relationship are;

• You have observed your partner over a period of time and determined that he/she is honest and keeps their word
• He/she respects you and treats you well
• They are willing to go out of their way and endure inconveniences to make you happy.
• Your partner is always there for you when you need him or her
• They are willing to offer you strength and support in your present circumstance and future goals

These are clues to look for to determine trustworthiness and are in no way fail proof measures. However they are a good place to start. In a perfect world being intimate with your partner would not require a condom between you. We do not live in that perfect world right now. If you have any doubt about your partner’s commitment on any level, use a condom. It will give your relationship the time to grow and mature without the added complication of an unplanned pregnancy or an STI. When you and your partner have reached a level of mutual trust, honestly discussed and committed to being faithful to each other and you are both ready to stop using condoms, start on a clean slate and go for STI tests to ensure you are both uninfected.
