Why The Senate Went On Recess – Saraki Reveals
Senate President, Bukola Saraki has revealed that the senate’s plenary today was postponed to July 21st, 2015 to “give the Senate Ad-Hoc Committees on Legislative Agenda and Review of the Senate’s Finances time to conclude their work and submit their reports. The two committees were given one-week to submit their reports.”
The senator made this know in a statement released on his facebook page. The statement, “Senate’s Recess and Matters Arising” addressed other issues like the need to reconvene when the need arises.
Earlier today, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu had said that the senate will reconvene whenever the ministerial list was ready.
Saraki also empahazied that the senate under his rule will make “financial conservatism” its watchword.
