How Nigerian U17 Team Demolished Opponent 9 – 0

The Nigerian under 17  team, were too classy for their opponent, as they walloped Team Nigeria UK, nine goals to nothing, in a friendly.

The match which was played at the Abuja national stadium, July 29, became a revelation for Coach Emmanuel Amunike, as he prepares his boys for the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) U17 World Cup in Chile.

Emeka Ebere was outstanding during the game as he netted a hat-trick, playmaker and attacker, Suleiman Abdullahi got a brace, while the likes of Kelechi Nwakali, Orji Promie, Chinedu Madueke and Gavi Thompson got a goal each as the reigning world champions cruised to another win.

On the stands were NFF Executive Committee members Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, Alhaji Ahmad Kawu, Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf as well as LMC Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko,

Ex-Super Eagles Coaches, Amodu Shuaibu and Samson Siasia also graced the occasion.

Speaking shortly after the match, coach Amunike said:“The match was just another opportunity to test and evaluate our players as we build towards the World Cup in Chile, but we are not bothered with the score line.” 

“It was good these boys came around from overseas and try to possibly find their way into the team and we are going to sit down and evaluate them.”

The 2015 edition will be the sixteenth tournament of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
