N’Assembly Crisis: APC Govs, Lawmakers Set For Peace Meeting
In a bid to end the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus in the National Assembly, the party governors will be meeting with all senators and House of Representatives members in Abuja on Friday, July 25.
According to one of the senators who spoke in confidence to This Day, the two committees headed by the Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, and Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, would also be expected to present their reports at the meeting.
The senator added that all APC senators and House members have been asked to attend the meeting, saying: They have asked all of us to come so that we can sort things out. We need to sit down and solve our problems so that we can do the confirmation of the service chiefs and later the confirmation of ministerial nominees and move ahead.
Some are however in doubt that anything will be achieved at the July 25 meeting as each of the factions has held on to its positions without conceding an inch. They are of the opinion that it will take divine intervention for the lawmakers to reach an agreement.
Details on This Day.
