‘Why I Don’t Have Good Memories Of My Dad’- Yvonne Nelson

Popular Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson recently opened up on how her father was never a part of her life.

The award winning actress disclosed that her father was not happy about her birth and she was later surprised to find out that she sat in the same classroom with a step-brother.

In an interview with Genevieve Magazine, Yvonne said ‘My dad is not such an amazing person in my life. I don’t have any good memories of him’ while revealing that instead she had an amazing stepfather.

Yvonne, who never fails to make it known she was raised solely by her mother, who trained me from kindergarten to University.

“My father was never there. That created a vacuum in my childhood. But I’m grateful that I had my mum and she did all she could to make sure that I lacked nothing”.

Speaking about failed promises made by her father, Yvonne added that “When I was younger, I met him and I told him I wanted a pair of shoes for Christmas and he told me he was going to buy me three or four pairs. My excitement knew no bounds when he said that. Guess what? He never fulfilled that promise; I waited for those shoes for a very long time, but they never came”.

Yvonne further disclosed that on another occasion while he was in London, she begged him to take her with him but he never did.

However, she also revealed that her father had kids with other women saying “While I was in school, I had a brother in my class and I never knew. We both didn’t know, until one day when a teacher told us and then showed us our records as proof”.

In recent times, the beautiful actress opened up on her relationship with Nigerian music sensation, Iyanya.
