500px Global Photowalk: Participants to get job opportunities as Pulse Nigeria Photojournalist

Join the 3rd Annual 500px Global Photowalk and stand a chance of becoming a full-time salaried photojournalist at Pulse Nigeria.

Come Saturday September 26, 2015, about 200 photographers (hobbyists, enthusiasts and professionals) will be participating in the 3rd Annual 500px Global Photowalk. 

500px (pronounced 500 pixels) is a Canada-based organisation that runs www.500px.com, one of the most visually stunning photo sharing sites in the world with 2.5 million registered users and over 10 million monthly active users.

Pulse.ng, Nigeria's popular news platform online. 24/7 news, gist, music, movies, events, sports and more, is taking the opportunity to discover the best hands at the event with a photography speed contest. All interested photographers are expected to take pictures at the event and then send the pictures immediately to photos@pulse.ng and stand a chance of becoming a full-time salaried photojournalist at Pulse.ng

 

1st Prize: A full-time salaried position as a photojournalist at Pulse.ng

2nd Prize: Engagement as a part-time photography stringer at Pulse.ng

3rd Prize: Engagement as a part-time photography stringer at Pulse.ng

 

Judging criteria

1. Event photography. Emphasis on people and the event. Quality of the photo and the ability to capture the energy of the event.
2. Speed of getting the photo to us. All photos must be sent the day of the event as the event is going on. Submission deadline is 7pm Saturday. Photos that come while the event is going on receive more points. Photos that come after the event is over will be discarded.
3. Photos should be titled with the names of the subjects where appropriate

Entries are to be sent in to photos@pulse.ng.

 

KICK OFF AND END DATE

Submissions for the contest will start on Saturday, 26th September and end by 7pm compulsorily on the same day. The winner will be announced on Monday, 28th September, 2015.

This walk is part of an International event that will find thousands of photographers in 130 cities participating all at once in photo walks around the globe.

The photos will also be uploaded on www.500px.com where millions of people around the world will see them.

Thereafter, Participants would also stand a chance to be chosen by a combination of 500px’s internal algorithm and expert photographer-judges’ opinions. The winners of the competition will be chosen in October and presented with camera prizes donated by Fujifilm, the global sponsor"
