Afrobasket Women Championship: D’Tigress Defeat Guinea With Over 50 Points
Nigeria’s were in dominant form as they crushed Guinea 100-47 in the ongoing Sunday’s only game of AfroBasket Women Championship on Sunday, September 27, 2015 .

The championship, presently being held in Yaounde, Cameroon saw D’Tigress easily overcome Guinea in the only game of Sunday.
Coach Scott Nnaji dropped leading scorer Olayinka Sanni for the tie but the girls were still dominant as Joyce Ekworomadu and five other Nigerians, scored 12 points or more, while Nadia Peruch-Niang scored 17 points and 7 rebounds for Guinea.

Nigeria closed the third quarter with a 73-40 lead.
Speaking after the match, Peruchi-Niang of Guinea said: “I have told the girls not to worry about the score. Those teams Senegal and Nigeria are way too ahead of us. But we still have to get better and learn from our mistakes.”
Meanwhile, the Nigeria male senior basketball team, D’tigers, emerged the African champions after beating the defending champion Angola, at the finals of the 2015 Afrobasket with 65 – 74 in August 2015.
The team emerged champion of the tournament for the first time ever as they create a record for the Nation.
