The Bayelsa state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has condemned the primary election recently conducted by the All Progressives Congress in the state.

The state secretary of the party, Keku Godspower in a statement issued in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital on Thursday, September 24, described the APC’s primary as a show of shame, Vanguard reports.
He said the party’s primary was marred by alleged widespread irregularities and violence. He questioned why the APC’s primary that was supposed to be internal matter which is expected to be conducted in a peaceful and friendly environment could have ended up being a bloodbath.
Keku said the APC is trying to get hold of power in Bayelsa state even when they have nothing to offer the people of the state. He said the party’s yearning for power is aimed at returning the state to its dark days.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress governorship primaries which held on Tuesday, September 22, has been nullified by the party.
The PDP’s statement is coming after Governor Seriake Dickson second terms bid received a boost with his adoption as sole candidate by 13 political parties for the December 5 gubernatorial poll. The delegates’ endorsement come as the party set to hold its primary on September 24.
