PHOTOS: Paschaline Alex Says How Far She Can Go On Set

Nollywood actress Paschaline Alex, who skyrocketed to fame performing a role of lesbian, says she doesn’t think she has seen the thing that she can’t perform on screen unlike many other actresses.

Speaking to the press, Paschaline Alex, the Nollywood star, who has appeared in College Girls, Bleeding Tree, Educated Housemaids, All Hands On Deck, The Wanted Girl and many more movies, told that “I don’t think I’ve seen that thing that I can’t do as far as it’s what I love doing” adding that “though nobody would force you to play any role you don’t want but I’ve not seen that role I can’t do”.

Paschaline Alex also disclosed what prevents other stars to be sincere and believable on screen.  In her opinion, the traditions deeply rooted in Nigerian cultures are the barriers that prevent many Nollywood stars from being fully sincere and believable on screen.

“When it comes to going nude, they believe the girl is promiscuous forgetting this thing we do is a job that must be done,” she said, disclosing that some of the actresses are so badly affected by the cultural traditions that they even refuse to perform kiss on set if it’s required by a plot.

“People must understand that this is a make-believe job where you have to get into all sorts of characters to deliver a role and make people truly enjoy the movie like it is the real thing” she concluded, saying that Nigerian culture made it very hard to get some things objectified on screen without risking to be publicly disgraced by society.

Nine months ago in an interview with Vanguard’s Damilola Sholola, Pascaline Alex has given a few glimpses into how her career is developing.

Her lesbian role in College Girls, shot in Ghana, skyrocketed her to fame, but at the same time her portrayal of a lesbian character in a Ghanian movie College Girls was so believable many people still think the actress is gay (which she is not). Moreover, during the filming of her sensual lesbian scenes, everyone on set was impressed by her acting.
