Good News: 4 Nigerian airports to get new terminals by December 2016

This was revealed by the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi at a press briefing after the inspection of facilities at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

Better times are here for the Lagos, Kano, Abuja and Port Harcourt airports as the construction of terminals at the airports will be completed by December 2016.

This was revealed by the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi at a press briefing after the inspection of facilities at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

He further disclosed that after completion, MMIA would generate 15 million passengers, while the other airports would equally generate 15 million, bringing total traffic to 30 million annually.

Amaechi also hinted th possibility of privatising the airport, according to him "as a result of limited resources for capital projects development, government is exploring the possibility of private sector participation to towards the realization of the industries’ potentials”.

He emphasised that private participation in airports would lead to development and ensure good service delivery.
