In Miami: Woman stabbed at Art Basel while people watch, thought it was a performance

The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim’s arms and neck during a fight and it took a while for the people around to understand exactly what was happening

During a fight at the famous Art Basel in Miami Beach, a woman was stabbed and witnesses thought it was a performance.

Apparently, almost everything is turning out be a joke at least that was how the people around the victim that was attacked during the exhibit by artist Naomi Fisher at the Art Basel Miami Beach felt.  

According to reports by a Miami Beach Detective Kathleen Prieto, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim’s arms and neck during a fight and it took a while for the people around to understand exactly what was happening. 

Witnesses actually though it was a performance with fake blood until one of patron realized the blood was real and helped the victim.  

What was more stunning was that some other witnesses thought the police tape cordoning the area was an installation even after the discovery.

 “The attack was an isolated incident that was immediately secured. Our thoughts are with the victim.” Says Art Basel Miami Beach spokeswoman Sara Fitzmaurice .

It wasn't disclosed what actually led to the fight but the suspect was arrest by the police.

Art Basel Miami Beach is the extension of the annual contemporary art fair in Basel, Switzerland, and is attended by thousands.
