Tonto Dikeh: Singer explains why she left D’banj Records
She quitted DB Records to pursue an independent career in music.
Tonto Dikeh, in her first interview since becoming a mother, has revealed why she is no longer signed to D’banj Records.
She made this known when she was asked if she still works with D’banj, who is also the owner of the record label.
She said, “No I’m not. (Not with D’Banj’s record label).”
"D’Banj is a very sweet person, i think he is one of the best people i’ve i known on earth and that is no joke. I love him so much, he is my brother. But not businesswise. We just couldn’t work it out businesswise. We couldn’t do that,” she added.
She explained that she plans to pursue her music career independently through new record label, Poko Entertainment.
D’banj unveiled Dikeh as one of the artistes signed to his record label DB Records, also known as LEE family on June 13, 2014.
