Aston Villa 0-4 Chelsea
With seven matches left for the home side to redeem their Premier league status, this latest defeat to Chelsea all but condemn them to the scrapheap and undoubted relegation despite the mathematical possibility of staying in the league.

The away side capitalised on the home side’s defensive frailty by putting four goals past them to continue their unbeaten run in the Premiership under Gus Hiddink.

Loftus-Cheek started the rout with his first goal in the EPL when put through via a fine team exchange of passes, started by John Obi Mikel’s bamboozling of two Villa players in the midfield before slotting home with a slight deflection by Lescott.

Alexandre Pato’s long-awaited Chelsea debut was marked with a goal from the penalty spot to double the visitor’s lead. He was also instrumental in helping Pedro to a brace to boost their slender hope of a top six finish.

Villa’s Alan Hutton was sent off late to complete a dismal afternoon for a side who have suffered seven defeat in a row for a second time this season.

Arsenal 4-0 Watford

Alex Iwobi gave a fantastic performance to breathe new life into the Gunner’s EPL title challenge, scoring one goal and creating another in this trashing of Watford, in his second successive league start.

He carried on where he left off after an impressive performance against Everton before the international break by setting up Sanchez’s fourth-minute opener with a deliciously floated pass before doubling the scoring with a first-time finish after Sanchez repaid the compliment of Iwobi’s assist.

Hector Bellerin made it an unassailable lead with a deflected goal early in the second half before substitute, Theo Walcott completed the scoring in the 90th minute to cut the deficit to leaders Leicester City to eight points.

Stoke City 2-2 Swansea
Swansea took another step to EPL safety with a valuable draw, coming from two goals down.

The match appeared all but won by the Europe-chasing home side after going two goals up with goals from Affelay and Krkic before the Swans came back into the match with two goals in 11 minutes.

Affelay’s close range header opened the scoring when left unmarked from Arnautovic’s cross before Bojan doubled the scoring shortly after the interval.

However, the Swans pulled a goal back when Sigurdsson’s effort bamboozled the Potters keeper to nettle into the net. Paloschi’s deflected shot 11 minutes later restored parity.

Swansea remain 10 points clear of the relegation zone while Stoke stay eighth in the table.

Crystal Palace

West Ham 2-2 Crystal Palace
The Hammer’s Champion League qualification hopes suffered a set-back after being held at home by Crystal Palace, not helped by Cheikhou Kouyate’s sending off.

However, Crystal Palace have now gone 14 Premier League matches without a victory despite reaching the FA Cup semi-finals, meanwhile, the Hammers are unbeaten in nine games in all competition.

Delaney opened the scoring with a simple headed goal into an open net when West Ham Goalkeeper, Adrian flapped Sako’s free-kick straight to his head.

West Ham hit back almost immediately when Lanzini slotted home after Palace failed to clear Michail Antonio’s cross into the box, before Dimitri Payet put the home side in the lead with a marvellous free-kick to leave Hennessey helpless – his ninth EPL goal of the season.

Dwight Gayle levelled the scoring with 15 minutes remaining when he capitalised on a mix-up between Ogbonna and Winston Reid.

Sergio Aguero

Sergio Aguero

Bournemouth 0-4 Manchester City
The returning Kevin De Bruyne inspired a clinical performance to keep alive their faint title hopes and end their long wait for a Premier League away victory.

The Etihad outfit raced into a 3-0 lead inside 20 minutes courtesy of goals from Fernando, De Bruyne, and Aguero. How City would love to play Bournemouth every week as they swatted them aside 5-1 at the Etihad.

Fernando started the rout when he readjusted himself perfectly to hook the ball into the net from a corner after the home defence failed to clear in the seventh minute.

Why City invested so much on quality players was there for all to see for the second goal. Aguero’s deceptive lob played Silva in behind the defence who picked out De bruyne to sublimely slot home.

Aguero effectively sealed the points for the visitors when he rose the highest despite his diminutive stature to nod home from Navas ‘s cross in the 19th minute before Kolarov’s injury time goal sealed a one-sided affair.

Bournemouth should have no worries about presesrving their EPL status despite some tough upcoming matches against Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United while City still harbour hopes of the EPL title.

Liverpool 1-1 Tottenham

This was a thrilling match with both sides producing exciting and fantastic football, end –to-end stuff, stalling Tottenham’s title dreams in the process.

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri will be a very happy man indeed with gap between them and Spurs now four instead of two, had Spurs gained victory in this pulsating match. They now have the opportunity to increase it to seven points if they beat Southampton on Sunday, getting closer and closer to an improbable title in an intriguing Premier League season.

Philip Coutinho gave Liverpool the lead in the 51st minute, his blossoming partnership with the fit again Daniel Sturridge on show. He started and ended a move which culminated in a perfectly weighted return pass from Sturridge before tucking the ball neatly into the bottom corner with his right foot.

Harry Kane restored parity with a swift and accurate shot that surprised Lovren and beat the goalkeeper Simon Mignolet when flicked through by Christian Eriksen 12 minutes later.
