Members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were in Dutse, Jigawa state for a membership mobilization programme on Monday, April 25.

Those in attendance included Senator Ali Modu Sherriff, the national chairman of the party; Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, the former Kano state governor; Ramalan Yero, the former Kaduna state governor and others.

The people came out in their numbers to support the opposition party.

According to Sheriff, the visit to Jigawa state was to mobilise more people to register as members of the party. “There is PDP in Jigawa state. APC is finished,” he said.

However, not every resident was happy with the visit of Sheriff and other PDP members.

After their visit, some residents took to the streets with brooms and gallons of water to wash off whatever dirt the PDP brought to the state.
Indigines of Dutse took to the road with gallons of water and brooms
Jigawa still stands firmly with the All Progressives Congress, Mamuda Ya’u Dan Sarki said.
Mamuda Ya’u Dan Sarki shared the photos on his Facebook page with the caption: “Indigines of Dutse took to the road with water and brooms to sanitize and disinfect mess brought by PDP national leader Ali Modu Sheriff on their roads immediately after they left the state capital.”
He said Jigawa still stands firmly with the All Progressives Congress.
It appears that the pictures are not recent and were taken as far back as 2015 in Katsina state during the presidential campaign. Several youths in Daura, Katsina state were seen on the streets with brooms and water “washing” off former president, Goodluck Jonathan’s footprints from the state after his visit.
