Sad! Naira weakens against dollar, checkout new rate

NAIJ.com fact-check today, April 26, shows that the naira has plummeted against the dollar in the black market.

According to our Bureau De Change (BDC) sources, the nation’s currency is hovering around N319 – N322 today, April 26, as against the N318 – N322 rate it was on Monday, April 25.

Our BDC source in Katsina said: “It is N319. In Kaduna, it is the same.”

However, our Lagos based BDC source said the nation’s currency has crashed further to N322.

He said: “The dollar is N322 at the moment but you might get it at N320 in some places.”

It was gathered that the naira is expected not to rise or fall significantly at the parallel and official foreign exchange market all through this week. This is owing to the fact that the economy demand for foreign exchange has eased after President Muhammadu Buhari’s delayed signing of the 2016 budget.
