Ahmed Musa has won the 2015/2016 Russian Premier League title with club side CSKA Moscow.

The Super Eagles forward helped his team to the title with 13 goals in 29 domestic league games as his side finished two points ahead of surprise challengers FC Rostov.

CSKA claimed the crown in 2014 but lost out to Zenit St Petersburg last term and got the last match day victory they needed to win the title.

The capital club went into the final day knowing a win was required and duly delivered, Alan Dzagoev’s 19th-minute strike proving decisive, although goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev was called upon to produce a brilliant double save late on.

Rostov won 2-0 at Terek with goals from Christian Noboa and Aleksandr Yerokhin to end two points behind CSKA.

Meanwhile Dynamo Moscow were relegated from the top flight for the first time in their history after a 3-0 defeat at home to Zenit.

The 2015/2016 title was Musa’s third with the club having won titles in 2012/2013 and 2013/2014.
