Giwa FC was expelled from the Nigeria’s top flight by the League Management Company (LMC) after the club failed to honour three consecutive games this term.

Prior to their expulsion, Giwa FC were banished to Ilorin by the LMC who ordered them to play their three home games at the Kwara state stadium, but the club refused.

Meanwhile, the embattled club have appealed the verdict of the LMC who threw them out of the League according to the rules governing the NPFL.

Excerpts:

NAIJ.com Sports: How are you Sir, and trust you’re doing good?

Ogunbote: What else would I say than to thank God who has been sufficient for me and my family.

NAIJ.com Sports: What is the current situation with Giwa FC?

Ogunbote: Well, there’s no latest for now except for the fact that the League is on mid-season break.

NAIJ.com Sports: Before the end of the first NPFL stanza, your club Giwa FC was thrown out of the NPFL by the LMC, what’s your take on this?

Ogunbote: As far as I’m concerned, the club owner of my club, Chris Giwa, has not told me that we have been expelled, and I don’t think such word should come out of my mouth.

NAIJ.com Sports: But were you told that the LMC has expelled your club?

Ogunbote: Yes, I was told and I even read about it.

NAIJ.com Sports: So how do you feel about the verdict of the LMC condemning your club?

Ogunbote: Well, it is a serious issue, and I don’t want to involve myself in the tussle because I’m a professional coach.

NAIJ.com Sports: What tussle are you referring to?

Ogunbote: The tussle between my boss and the other people which you and the public are aware of.

NAIJ.com Sports: Where do you think the tussle will lead to, and don’t you think it’s affecting you and your players?

Ogunbote: What I know is that this problem would soon be settled. I strongly have that believe

NAIJ.com Sports: Is there any mutiny in the camp by your players?

Ogunbote: I have told all of them to just be patient as the storm will soon be over by God’s grace

NAIJ.com Sports: Are you still comfortable at Giwa FC or you are leaving for another club?

Ogunbote: I am not leaving Giwa FC because I have a contract with the club, and like I said earlier on, this problem will soon be over.

NAIJ.com Sports: What will be your decision if Enyimba should call you today to come and handle the club?

Ogunbote: Enyimba wanted me before the start of the season, but I did not go to them, and like I said I still have a contract with Giwa FC, so I can’t.

NAIJ.com Sports: Thanks for your time Sir

Ogunbote: You are most welcome
