Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger travelled to France to officially open a stadium named in his honour.
“Stade Arsene Wenger”, the home of local football club USL Dippinheim with a capacity of 500, is based near Strasbourg where Wenger was born.

During the ceremony, Peter Troeesch, the president of Dippinheim, stated: “Wenger deserves to have one in every village in Alsace and France.”
In his turn the Arsenal boss, hopes the honour will encourage other local youngsters to follow their own dreams: “Anything can happen. When I was a kid, I never imagined becoming the manager of a big club. So if it only contributes to that it’s already good.”
