According to the director-general of PDP Governors’ Forum, Osaro Onaiwu,  the agenda of the meeting is to resolve the crisis currently rocking the party.

His words: ”The leaders of the party, the Governors’ Forum, National Assembly Caucus, BoT, Makarfi group and Sheriff group will meet tomorrow (today) to address the issue in the party.

”We want to resolve the crisis in the party once and for all. We want to find lasting solution to it. All parties involved are invited for this meeting. The forthcoming Edo election will also be addressed.”

Sheriff was sacked as the national chairman of the PDP at the party’s convention in Port Harcourt on Saturday, May 21.

The party named a 7-man caretaker committee to manage the affairs of the party after Sheriff’s exit. The committee is headed by former two-time governor of Kaduna state, Senator Ahmed Makarfi with Senator Ben Obi as secretary.

Sheriff has since gone to court to challenge the action of the party. Sheriff asked a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt to nullify the appointment of the Ahmed Makarfi-led caretaker committee.

Meanwhile, Sheriff has said Ekiti state governor Ayo Fayose cannot be vice president of Nigeria.

According to former Borno state governor, all the excuses being given by the PDP governors as reason for their plot to remove him were laughable and lack of any common sense.

He denied telling anybody that he wants to be president in 2019, adding that he could not have offered the vice presidential slot to Fayose, because he was familiar with the Ekiti state governor’s antecedents and character.
