Sad! My ex-husband is yet to acknowledge his child – Nollywood actress cries out

Talented seasonal actress Alex Okoroji is no doubt one of the best actresses who do not find it hard to interpret her rolls effectively. The beautiful mother of one is yet to officially settle the rift between herself and her ex-husband.

Alex Okoroji was once married to Ghanaian hunk actor, Omar Captan but the marriage hit the rocks after he left Alex to take full custody of the child (Ray) their union produced. 6-year old Ray who shares the same birthday date with his father has been denied the right to bond with his father ever since he was born.

In an interview with Punch Newspaper, Alex Okoroji revealed that on Ray’s birthday every other member of the family called to wish him happy birthday including his father’s ex-wife but the Ghanaian actor did not send any birthday wishes. She further opened up on what actually caused the separation between her and her ex-husband.

Alex said: “If you get an answer from him, please let me know. I’m also curious to know why. How can anyone not acknowledge the existence of his first son who is his splitting image, a child he was present at his birth, a child born into his arms, on his own birthday – a gift he had requested from God many times, with his own mouth in front of many? He even knew the child was there before I realised it. He knew the child was a boy before I did a scan.”

The Nollywood actress said despite being separated from the actor many years back, she still maintains a cordial relationship with her ex’s family saying:

“I only feel sad for him mostly because one doesn’t trade his/her right as a parent because the relationship with the former partner broke down. It’s his loss really. I’m having a great time experiencing the love and affection of this beautiful amazing child who knows how much I love him and will do anything for him. My son doesn’t lack anything. He has a grandfather (Tony Okoroji) who adores him and a family who loves him and will always be a part of his life. I’m grateful to God for that. I have a civil relationship with his family. I have nothing against them. I can’t say they have done anything in particular to hurt me personally. We all have to remember that blood is thicker than water. Sometimes, silence is consent. I have translated that to mean that they approve of Captan’s irresponsibility. And honestly, my focus right now is on much more important things.”

Alex Okoroji who also dated her colleague, Kalu Ikeagwu further revealed that she has found love with her self and will never makeup with her ex-husband. Revealing that, her focus is now on her future and not her past although she is opened to love but not available for circus.

She said: “I’m done! Ex is ex please. Ex is for a reason. My focus is on the future, not my past. I am open to love, the right kind. I’m not available for circus. I am also open to marriage at the right time with the right person; with a man who is not intimidated by a strong ambitious woman like me, an open minded man who has goals for his life and is honest, transparent, affectionate and not afraid to be expressive; a man who is bold enough to love me in a way no man ever can or ever has, a solid thinking man, one without pun, or mind games but just the real kind of grown love.”
