Newspapers in China are reporting that a bridesmaid at a wedding died after consuming too much alcohol during the reception. Her cause of death is that she choked on her own vomit.

In a short clip of a video of the woman at the wedding, she is obviously very drunk but is being encouraged by the gentlemen to keep drinking ‘baijiu’, a strong Chinese alcoholic beverage made from grain. The harmless peer pressure has turned deadly for the unfortunate bridesmaid. See video below:

In the next clip, the paramedics are seen trying to make the woman conscious again but these attempts fail.

The excess drinking is a bit of a wedding tradition in China where the bridesmaids are to drink on behalf of the bride. Reports from The China Daily, say that the newly weds are negotiation liability and compensation issues with the family of the deceased bridesmaid.
