Giggs to take charge of United against Bayern after Moyes leaves the club “by mutual consent”
The Premier League club made this announcement this afternoon, ahead of today’s UEFA Champions League tie against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.
Chief Executive Ed Woodward said: “The club and manager agree the timing is right to bring our relationship to an end. We would like to thank David for all his hard work.
“But the board has decided that it is best to take another direction. Player-manager Ryan Giggs will oversee team affairs tonight against Bayern Munich”.
Moyes was specifically chosen by his predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson last summer and left his post at Everton to take over the Red Devils.
