#NigeriaDecides: Buhari wins in Kogi, on course to clinch Niger

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari (retd) has been announced the winner of the March 28 Presidential elections in Kogi State.


The State Collation Officer, Prof. Adikwu Michael, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, made the announcement at the State headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Lokoja on Monday, March 30.


In Kogi, 439,287 votes were cast and Buhari polled 264,851 to defeat President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party, who had 149,987 votes.


Meanwhile, Buhari is also leading President Jonathan by a wide margin in the presidential race in Niger State with results for 11 of the 25 local governments in the state announced.


Thus far, Buhari has 296,100 votes, while President Goodluck Jonathan has polled 74,784 votes.
