Gunmen Goes on Rampage in Rivers State. Kills 9

Unknown gunmen in military camouflage stormed Obrikom and Obur communities in Rivers state today April 4th shooting sporadically into the air. At the end of the melee, Nine persons have were confirmed dead.



According to a statement by the Rivers state Police spokesperson, Ahmad Muhammad, the gunmen attacked the community, killing 6 persons instantly while 3 others died on arrival at a hospital where they were rushed to for medical attention.



Two other persons are reported to have been injured and are currently receiving medical attention. The gunmen also set the home of a politician, Vincent Ogbagu, who is running for a seat in the state House of Assembly in the April 11th election, on fire
