The rescued girls, women are from Gumsuri, not Chibok
by James Sambo
Almost all the girls rescued by the Nigerian Army are not from Chibok town, reports say.
In the past week, over 713 women, girls and children have been rescued from Boko Haram’s enclave in Sambisa forest by the Nigerian Army.
However, none of the 200+ Chibok schoolgirls abducted in April 2014, have been confirmed to be part of the rescued people.
According to Associated Press, the rescued girls are from the town of Gumsuri, which is near Chibok.
Interviews conducted by the news agency indicates that the girls are not part of the girls kidnapped from Government Secondary School, in Chibok.
