Governor Al-Makura’s Adopted Child Starts NEW LIFE, Takes Steps Towards His Dream
The six-year-old physically challenged boy adopted by Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura , Husseini Abubakar, has started school.

Leadership reports that little Husseini arrived at Ta’al Model School in Akurba by 7:30 on June 12, Friday, with his tricycle which was presented by the governor.
The boy was reportedly dressed in his new school uniform and was seated in class with other children.
Mrs. Baraka Mohammed, Husseni’s class teacher, told journalists that the boy has been engaging his peers in discussion that shows his openness and readiness to learn.

Husseni confessed that he was dreaming of becoming a teacher so that he would be able to help those who are physically challenged like him.
However, Hajara Abubakar, the boy’s mother, who is also physically challenged, has another ambition for Husseni. She hopes that her son becomes a governor so as to pay back to society the favour he has received from Governor Al-Makura.

On June 7, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, the governor of Nasarawa state, took full custody of a six-year-old physically challenged boy Husseini Abubakar. The governor also promised to sponsor the boy’s education from primary to tertiary institution.
Leadership reports that Al-Makura made the promise when he saw the boy during an inspection of flood-prone areas along Jos road in Lafia.
Husseini Abubakar is from Ashangwa and presently taking refuge in Akurba area of Lafia because of the communal crisis that displaced his family a year ago.

The governor promised that he would take care of the boy and provide him an opportunity to fulfil his potential in life despite his physical challenge.
Al-Makura reportedly gave N50,000 to little Husseini, which was used by the family to open a kiosk to assist in relieving the financial burden of the family.
Shedding more light on the development, Ahmed Tukur, the governor’s special assistant on media and publicity, said that Al-Makura was moved by the plight of the little boy, therefore, he decided to keep a poor child under his custody.
