Kidnapped Ondo Traditional Ruler Released (UPDATE)
Princess Oluwatoyin Omosowon, the Regent of Akungba-Akoko community in Akoko South-West local government area of Ondo state, has been released by her abductors.
The Ondo Princess was released in the early hours of this morning after spending two weeks in the custody of her abductors.
A source in the community who spoke with Sahara Reporters, said some traditional leaders have visited the monarch after her release.
However it is unclear if a ransom was paid for her to be released.
It would be recalled that two weeks back, masked gunmen abducted the Regent and her aides along the Owo-Oba Akoko expressway on June 3, at about 3.30pm.
The Regent was on her way to attend the 65th Inaugural Lecture of the Federal University Technology, Akure, (FUTA) to be delivered by the Vice Chancellor of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun.
The official car conveying the Princess was stopped by the kidnappers and they took the occupants.

The indigenes of the town embarked on a protest against the abduction of their traditional ruler, paralysing activities in the town.
Isaac Eke, the state police commissioner, confirmed that two of the kidnapped persons regained their freedom.
Meanwhile, Oba Fredercik Obateru Akinruntan, another traditional ruler in Ondo state was accused of hijacking voting materials during the 2015 guber polls in Ilaje local government area of the state.
