Mixed Reactions Trail FG’s Decision To Ban Consumption Of Ogororo
Reactions have trickled in following Federal Government’s decision to ban the consumption of local gin popularly known as Ogogoro.
The DG of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Orhii announced the ban yesterday. He added that 38 persons have died from consuming contaminated local gin in Rivers state recently.
This comes weeks after the enigmatic death in Ondo was blamed on the local mixture.
Following FG’s declaration, Nigerians took to twitter to add their voices to the trending issue. See reactions below;
But Ogogoro is one of the very few things we produce locally. Surely there must be a way to organise and regulate it.
