Bayelsa 2015: Patience Jonathan Defies Husband, Endorses APC Candidate Over PDP’s
As the December 5 governorship election in Bayelsa state continues to gain momentum, there are indications that former first lady Dame Patience Jonathan has surprisingly thrown her weight behind the immediate past governor of Bayelsa state Chief Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a report on The Sun, the wife of former president Goodluck Jonathan maybe indirectly backing Sylva following a directive to her group in a meeting asking them not to support the re-election of Henry Seriake Dickson, the incumbent governor.
It was gathered that when some of the people at the meeting raised observation as to the possibility of working for Sylva when the former president Jonathan had openly declared support for Dickson, Dame Jonathan reportedly told them that Jonathan won’t support Dickson when the chips are down.

According to the report, Dame Jonathan prefers Dr. Weripamowei Dudafa, former presidential aide to Goodluck Jonathan and commissioner for local government under Sylva to incumbent governor Dickson.
It was gathered that the meeting was attended by Werinipre Seibarugu, former acting governor of the state and chairman of the defunct Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) in Bayelsa state, Dr. Dudafa, former commissioners for transport and sports, Marie Ebikake, Ebikitin Diongoli, Remi Kuku and a host of others.
This development comes as a shock to many as Timipre Sylvia had earlier dubbed former president Goodluck Jonathan as a betrayal while the former president also during the run to the presidential election in March put an end to speculations about a frosty relationship between him and Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayela state who he tacitly endorsed for re-election in 2016.
