LG Workers In Ekiti To Become Traffic Wardens?
Indications have emerged that Local Government workers in Ekiti state are set for a showdown over state government’s plan to engage their services in the traffic sector.

Members who preferred anonymity expressed their displeasure over the decision, which they tagged as an infringement against their recruitment into the local government administrative system.
Governor Fayose explained that his administration’s plan to re-introduce the enforcement of traffic regulations is to ease traffic congestion usually experienced in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
Leaders of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) were said to be at a cross-roads whether to support the government planned directive or not.
The previous administration of Kayode Fayemi introduced the State Traffic Management Agency (EKSTMA) popularly called Dagrin, but its officers were disengaged by Governor Fayose for reasons undisclosed.

The reintroduction of the state traffic officers would bring road congestion to the barest minimum, while traders displaying wares on roadside would have to think twice in order not to face the wrath of the law.
