Mourinho Benched Terry To Send Message To Abramovich
Chelsea FC boss Jose Mourinho yesterday’s decision to substitute captain John Terry during the loss to Manchester City football club has been the topic of discussion since the game ended.
Its been revealed that Terry was not injured and the decision was anything but tactical according to Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness.
Souness feels that Mourinho is trying to send a big message to Blues owner Roman Abramovich to buy an extra defender before the end of the transfer window.
“I thought John Terry was as good as Gary Cahill next to him and I didn’t see him get exposed. John Terry is a leader,” he said.

“I think it’s the manager trying to make a statement to the owner in as much that he needs more players.
“The manager, if the stories are correct, would like more players. I think he was emphasising that point today to the owner by the actions of taking Terry off and introducing Juan Cuadrado later.”
This news is going to sound rough to Everton fans who have been hoping Chelsea loses interest in the pursuit of their centre half, John Stones who was in imperious form as the Toffees beat Southampton 3-0 at St Mary’s on Saturday.

Everton has valued the English youngster at £34million and Chelsea has already seen two bids turned down.
Mourinho recent defensive issues might push Abramovic into buying Stone who critics has praised as the next Rio Ferdinand.
21-year-old John Stones has been in Everton since 2013 having come from Barnsley, he is projected to be an England starter alongside Gary Cahill who currently plays for the blues.
