In an effort to efficiently improve on the processes of revenue generation and collection in the state and ensure proper accountability and transparency in all government accrued revenues, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the operation of a single account in the state effective from September 1, 2015.
According to a statement issued by the permanent secretary/accountant general of the state, Abimbola Umar, the state government took the decision to address the challenges previously faced with the operation of the multiple account system.
Meanwhile, Lagos state governor has initiated moves to enhance workers’ welfare within the state. The administration is set to pay a sum of N2.2billion to a total number of 658 retirees in the 18th batch of retirement benefit bond
According to Folashade Onanuga, the director- general, Lagos State Pension Commission(LASPEC), the retirement Bond Certificate Presentation ceremony would be made in Alausa on Thursday, August 20, 2015, by the governor to 658 workers who retired from the mainstream of the civil service, local government, SUBEB and parastatals of government.
