“Dr. Kachikwu will be announced anytime from today,” the insider said.
The nomination reportedly is one of the many to come in Buhari’s bid to rid the NNPC of corruption.
It should be noted that Nigeria makes billions of dollars from crude oil, which funds about 85 % of the federal budget, but the president said that an estimated 250,000 barrels of crude is stolen daily by thieves and sold abroad.
Dr. Kachikwu is a very well respected technocrat with an faultless record. He has never hold a political position.
His candidacy is being endorsed by the West and influential patrons who are frustrated by the corruption in the petroleum sector.
