African Games: Super Falcons leave without medal
The Super Falcons fell to their counterparts from Cote d'Ivoire in the third match on Thursday
The Super Falcons will be leaving the 2015 African Games without a medal following their 1-2 loss to Cote d'Ivoire.
In the third place game that took place on Thursday, September 17, The Super Falcons fell to Cote d'Ivoire who had their goals from Christelle N’Guessan and Fatou Coulibaly.
The Falcons who were defeated in the semi-final to Cameroon scored had their goal through before Cote d'Ivoire came back to win the game.
The Falcons scored first in the bronze medal match contest through Ihezuo in the 53rd minute but they were unable to hold their lead.
The Ivorian Women responded with two goals in seven minutes to win the tie.
The show in Congo caps a poor year for the Falcons who failed to live to expectations at the female world cup in Canada and also failed to qualify for the Olympic Games for the second time on the bounce.
Cameroon will face Ghana in the final.
