APC Govs Want To Press President Buhari On Choosing Ministers?

The governors elected under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have reportedly met on September 16, Wednesday.

The main discussion of the meeting was the formation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.

Insiders in the ruling party said the governors were to meet over rationale for the appointments.

They were reportedly unsatisfied with that names submitted by most of them for nominations were being abandoned by the president.

It was also learnt that the governors decided to meet Buhari today, after their meeting.

However, former president Olusegun Obasanjo and former governor of Lagos state Bola Tinubu have launched a war over the positions for their men in Buhari’s government.

The list of the ministers submitted to the Department of Security Service (DSS) has been already screened.

The president is expected to unveil his cabinet until the end of September.

Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, who took over power from the military regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar, settled with ministers pretty quickly.

President Umaru Yar‘Adua, after his inauguration on May 29, 2007 within 24 hours made key appointments.

Immediate past president Goodluck Jonathan was also not in a hurry with ministers. However, key appointments took the president five weeks.
