APC, Wike Trade Words Over Election Violence
The constant bickering between the Rivers state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Nyesome Wike seem not to have stopped.

The APC had demanded an investigation into the widely publicised violence that was a major feature in the state during the electioneering period, which led to the death of several persons.

In a statement issued in Port Harcourt by its state chairman, Dr. Davies Ikanya, the APC expressed concerns that the governor has not ordered a probe into the killings, Leadership reports.
Ikanya said: “His government has not made any effort at bringing the perpetrators of these horrid crimes to book, perhaps because of the alleged involvement of his core supporters in those cold-blooded murders. In the light of the above, we are very disturbed by the persistent threats to the lives of our witnesses”.
Reacting to the APC’s statement, the governor in a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday, September 29, by his special adviser on media and publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, advised Ikanya to make public the details of the alleged killings before and during the elections.
Part of the statement read: “I have just been briefed on the bombastic outburst by Davies Ikanya and his co-travelers in the Rivers State chapter of the APC deprecating Governor Nyesom Wike for not probing the killings in Rivers State during the elections.
“This is. Is it a case of selective amnesia? Since Dr Ikanya has details of the murders associated with the last general elections, why not make them public? In fact, he should be the prime suspect in the alleged murders.
