Bayelsans Are Tired Of Accidental, Visionless Leaders – Alaibe

A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa state and former managing director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Timi Alaibe, on Thursday, September 3, said that people of the state are tired of visionless and accidental leaders.

Alaibe made this remark at the national secretariat of the APC shortly after submitting his expression of interest and nomination forms.

He said he was never a fan of the incumbent governor of the state, Seriake Dickson, but only loyal to his former party the Peoples Democratic Party which made him to campaign for him during the last governorship election, This Day reports.

The governorship aspirant pointed out that the people of the state are tired of what he called “accidental and visionless leadership.

Alaibe said: “You were here when the elders and leaders the state came to purchase form, asking me to contest for the governorship of the state. In answering that call and following my acceptance, I have come here to submit the expression of interest and nomination forms.

“We as Bayelsa people are tired of accidental leadership. We are tired of visionlessness and you know that I come with a lot of experience, goodwill, integrity and reputation. As one of the major oil producing states in this country, Bayelsa has not been able to see structured development in terms of infrastructural development and even in terms of environmental development as consequence of oil production.”

On why he left Governor Dickson after four years of support, Alaibe said: “I am a party man and that is what I have always been. I even have course to step down for people by following party directive those days, so I am a party man but in spite of how we try to support them, the leopard and his skin refused to change, you cannot give what you do not have.”

The former NDDC boss noted that there are no excuses for failure saying that the difficult terrain in the state cannot be blamed for poor performance, pointing out that he is coming with a lot of experience to transform the state saying “there is no terrain challenge that cannot be resolved.”

Meanwhile, the wife of former president Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, .

She had, however, told her loyalists in the state to work selflessly for the re-election victory of Dickson in December 5 governorship election.
