'Blame It Shayo': Indian drunkard falls into hole, workers build road over him

A drunk man who fell into a hole on a road died when construction workers built the road over him.

An 45-year-old Indian man who went on a drinking spree lost his life when he fell into a hole in the middle of the road and did not wake up early enough as the construction workers built a road over him the following morning, reports Times of India.

The incident which happened in the district of Katni in Madhya Pradesh state in central India, was only discovered when locals spotted the man's shirt and was pulled out of newly-laid road already dead.

Police say when the man fell into the hole on Friday night, he apparently slept off and when the labourers resumed the following day, the filled the hole with molten tar and used a heavy roller to flatten the surface but the man's shirt was spotted and his body was pulled out of the newly laid road two days later.

"His body has been sent for Post-mortem and further investigation is in process," sub-inspector NP Chaudhary told Times.
