Goodluck Jonathan: Ex-President reportedly urges PDP to go against Kogi governor, Idris Wada

Jonathan has reportedly urged leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to do everything possible to prevent Wada from winning the party’s primaries which will hold on Monday, September 14, 2015 in Lokoja.

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan is said to be campaigning against the second term bid of Kogi State governor, Idris Wada.

Jonathan has reportedly urged leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to do everything possible to prevent Wada from winning the party’s primaries which will hold on Monday, September 14, 2015 in Lokoja.

“It started like a rumour; but former President Jonathan came out openly today (Sunday) and told the governor that he would not support him. And as I speak with you, he is calling leaders of the PDP in the state not to support the governor in the primary that will take place on Monday,’’ an unnamed aide of the governor told ThisDay.

“Politicians have no conscience. What has Governor Wada done to deserve all these from Jonathan? Anyway, God is with us; let’s wait and see what will happen on Monday,” the aide added.

Jonathan is said to be against Wada due to a suspicion that the latter supported President Muhammadu Buhari during the March presidential elections.

Jonathan lost to Buhari in the March 28 election leading the PDP to relinquish the position of ruling party to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after 16 years in power.
