Wike, who made the declaration on Friday, September 18, 2015, through his Chief of Staff, Emeka Woke, said though his administration has continued ongoing projects inherited by the past administration, he would recover embezzled public funds from erring contractors.
In a report by The Punch, Wike made the declaration in Port Harcourt while receiving the task force report on the renovation of some of the state-owned secondary schools saying “In as much as I am continuing with the important ongoing projects I inherited where Rivers State tax payers’ money have been misappropriated, I will not relent in ensuring that such funds are recovered.”
