Anthony Martial has played down the comparisons with Thierry Henry saying he is far from the level the Arsenal great was
Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has played down the comparisons drawn between him and English Premier League legend Thierry Henry.
The 19-year-old has had an impressive start to the life at Manchester United scoring a fantastic solo effort on his debut against rivals, Liverpool.
Since his explosive stars, Martial has been compared to the former Arsenal striker, Henry who like the United striker also started his career at Monaco.

His pace and calmness on the ball so far show is reminiscent of his legendary French compatriot, which has sparked those comparisons.
Martial has however shut it down, saying he wants to emulate the goal scoring prowess of Henry while admitting that he is still far from the level of the Arsenal great.

“I know this very great player is a legend in England. I do not think we have the same characteristics,” Martial said.
“Thierry Henry is Thierry Henry; I still have everything to prove. By continuing to work, I will try to reach his level but I am still very far.”
