How A Reckless Tipper Driver Killed 3 In Ado Ekiti (Photos)

Three unidentified persons were knocked down by a hit-and-run tipper driver at Deeper Life junction, Ado – Afao road in Ado Ekiti local government area of Ekiti state, yesterday October 4.

The incident, according to some eyewitnesses was caused by the recklessness from the drivers, calling on the state government to place ban on the night operations of the tipper drivers in the state.

It was gathered that their were seven passengers in the vehicle, as two women were reportedly killed at the scene of the incident while another young lady gave up the ghost while taking her to the hospital.

Other occupants in the vehicle who sustained various degree of injuries have been taken to a yet to be identified  hospital in the town.

They submitted that the government should limit their operation in the day to at least 6:00pm, which according to them, will reduce killing of innocent people due to their reckless driving.

An eye witness, Mr Emmanuel Ajigbola suggested that the government should enact a law that will restrict the truck drivers from carrying their loads, (sand and gravel) at night, also added that most of them are without headlight.

It would be recalled that about four weeks ago, a tipper driver knocked down an Okada rider in Ado Ekiti, and the matter nearly degenerated to bloodshed if not for the quick intervention of the combined efforts of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and the Ekiti State Traffic Management Agency to restore normalcy in the area.
