Man To Pay N160,000 For Lady’s Teeth

A brawl between a 24-year old lady Anita Vincent and her neighbor, Mrs. Friday has landed them in court after, Ekele Friday intervened and released a killer punch into the mouth of Miss Vincent, removing her two front teeth.

Ekele might not know how expensive a tooth could be. But he should be wiser now as police arraigned him before an Ikeja Magistrates’ court 12 on Wednesday October 14, on two counts charge of assault and causing injury to Miss Vincent by removing her front teeth.

Police prosecutor, Corporal Una Michael stated in the charge that Ekele committed the offence at about 6:30pm on October 10, 2015 at 10, Ogunjimi Street, Egbeda, in Alimosho area of Lagos.

Ekele pleaded not guilty to the charges when read to him.

Miss Anita Vincent told the court that the matter would have been resolved amicably if Ekele was willing to pay N160, 000 to replace her two teeth: “I went to Igando General Hospital, they said I needed N160,000 for original teeth. And that is what I want.”

The suspect’s lawyer said he was willing to follow the path of peace and pay for the complainant’s teeth but he was considering a cheaper rate, perhaps at a private hospital.

Miss Vincent said she was ready to withdraw the case only when her teeth was fixed.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Gbajumo admitted Ekele to bail in the sum of N20, 000 with one surety in like sum. The matter was adjourned for mention.
