Ministerial List: Why Ekweremadu Attacks President Buhari

Ike Ekweremadu, the deputy Senate president, has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari over his recent ministerial appointments.

He claimed that the president violated the provisions of the federal character as contained in Section 14 of the Nigerian Constitution.

The lawmaker said the nominations “made so far by the current administration are clearly lop-sided that it left the South-East totally empty-handed”.

Nelson Oyewo, the Acting Clerk of the Senate, announced that the next plenary session will be Thursday, October 22.

The shift of plenary session was necessitated out of a need for Senate president, Bukola Saraki, to appear at the Code of Conduct Tribunal on Wednesday.
