Barrister Amina Usman Dan-Makka, the state commissioner of Women Affairs stated this at a recent get-together party organized for the children in order to give them sense of belonging.
The commissioner explained that her Ministry carefully planned the party for them deliberately to disabuse their minds of the shock and trauma they have been through, so as to have time to interact with other children in a peaceful atmosphere.
She also pointed-out that 100 of the children affected have been enrolled in three designated primary schools in Kano under a free scholarship by the government.
The commissioner however used the occasion and appeal to philanthropists, corporate bodies, charitable organizations, NGOs and other well-meaning Nigerians to assist the children with food, clothes and other basic necessities of life to cushion the effects of the terrorist activities that dislodged their families.
