My Nomination Is Not A Compensation For Losing Taraba Seat – Female Ministerial Nominee

Former senator and ministerial nominee, Aisha Jummai Alhassan on Wednesday, October 14 cleared the air on her nomination by President Muhammadu Buhari as compensation for losing Taraba state seat.

She made this statement while speaking to lawmakers during her ministerial screening in Abuja.

She said that the President is a loyal and incorruptible man who is hardly biased.

She said: “I want to correct an information that is going on within and outside the country that my nomination by Mr. President is a choice between the matter going on at taraba tribunal and the ministerial nominees.”

She added that corruption can be done in different forms and should not be encouraged.

He is a loyal party man and corruption in the judiciary takes many forms.

“It goes beyond taking and giving of money.

“When a lawyer advices a candidate who accepts being guilty to plead not guilty it is corruption,” she said.

Barely few minutes after her short speech, she was asked to bow before the senate and exit the chambers.

Mrs Alhassan contested for the Taraba Governorship Election which underwent problems and were taken to court.

She contested against Darius Ishaku and went to court to nullify the election in which she lost.
