105 Missing Soldiers: Nigerian Army confirms reports of attack
It had earlier been reported that the soldiers went missing after a gun battle with the insurgents in Gudunbali, Borno State on Wednesday, November 18, 2015.
The Nigerian Army has confirmed reports of a Boko Haram attack on Gudunbali, Borno State that resulted in the disappearance of 105 soldiers on Wednesday, November 18, 2015.
Premium Times had reported that the soldiers went missing after a gun battle with the insurgents.
Confirmation of the incident was given by Army spokesperson, Colonel Sani Usman.
"I want to confirm the incidence at Gudunbali… the unit attacked is within the area of responsibility of the MNJTF and troops are now organising to counter the attack," Usman told Premium Times.
He however didn’t expressly confirm the number of missing soldiers.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have reacted to the reports via social media using the hashtag #BringBackOurSoldiers to demand answers from the military.
