In an effort to support literacy in Northern Nigeria, Marine Platforms gives out 200 thousand Naira each to 5 awesome writers from the North.
Baji Nyam, from Marine Platform gave out this award at the Ake Arts and Book Festival 2015, in a bid to encourage more brilliant and intelligent writings from the North.
The Recipient of the award include El Nathan John for his book Born on a Tuesday, Halima Haliyu for her book Fire on the tip of Ice, Samira Sanusi for her book S is for Survivor, Maryam Bogi for Bongel, and award winning author Abubakar Adam Ibrahim for his book Season of Crimson Blossom.
Mr Baji also announced that Marine platforms has launched an intiative themed '100 Book library across northern Nigeria' that is aimed at providing beautiful, inspiring and well written books to children and schools in the north.
Marine platforms would also organize writing and literary workshops, because according to him the North is still far behind in development and innovation.
