Desmond Elliot, Ramsey Nouah, Ireti Doyle, Lancelot Imasue: Filmmakers talk 'film, television and Nollywood' at Lagos Creative Industry Fair
According to some top Industry personalities, Nollywood needs more structure, more cinemas across Nigeria, stronger distribution models, skill exchanges, mentor/mentee relationships among directors among others.
At the ongoing Lagos Creative Industry Fair, Multichoice Africa brought top Nollywood personalities together to discuss and enlighten an audience in a capacity building workshop on "Film, Television and Nollywood".
Organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce in partnership with DSTV, GOtv, and Africa Magic, the event had Desmond Elliot, Ramsey Nouah, Ireti Doyle, Lancelot Imasuen and Lilian Amah as the panelists.
The personalities spoke on building within Nollywood, television and the movie industry to help structure and improve the industry for investment and distribution opportunities.
They also spoke on the need for more structure within the industry, more cinemas across Nigeria, stronger distribution models, skill exchanges, mentor/mentee relationships among directors, producers, talent, and enforcement of existing piracy laws.
The members of the panel appreciated TV platforms like African Magic and GOtv their contribution towards improving the quality of television and film production, and positively driving the movie industry in Africa.
